Children/Youth Art Classes
Exposing young people to the visual arts can help in the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, teamwork, decision-making, risk-taking, and, of course, inventiveness. At the Cape Coral Art League we strive to teach the next generation about drawing, color, layout, perspective, and balance – skills that can benefit them in their academic work as well as expand their creativity. And they have fun while learning!
My Name is Rachael Hughett, and I'm excited to be your new "Student Sunday" art teacher.
A little about me: I have a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts Education degrees from Ohio State University. Across the years, I have enjoyed sharing my passion for the arts as an art/studio gallery instructor, a homeschool co-op teaching artist, a k-4 public school art teacher, a partner in art education curriculum design & professional development, and a Director of Integrated Learning for an arts non-profit. In addition to my "art teaching", I also love all things nature, travel, and health. In fact, for several years my husband and I adventured across the nation in an RV, following his travel nurse career. After bidding farewell to the nomad life, we bought a fixer upper here in sunny SWFL and are enjoying settling in. Were so happy to be discovering our places within this great community, and I'm so looking forward to making meaningful art and memories with your young ones"...
