About Us

The Cape Coral Art League (CCAL) was chartered in 1965 as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 and 501(a)2 charity organization that promotes the advancement of art throughout Southwest Florida. It was incorporated in 1966 to promote the advancement of art in Cape Coral and nearby areas. The current studio location was built and opened in the fall of 1984. A beautiful gallery addition was opened in April 1991. With the help of a state grant a second art room studio was built in 2002 providing more space for art classes, workshops and many more art events.

The League seeks to enrich the lives of its members and the community by providing educational opportunities in visual arts, appreciation of a variety of art forms and encouraging social interaction among our members.

The Cape Coral Art League offers year-round classes for adults, youth and children; eight major art exhibits each year in our gallery; other art shows, including our annual art auction; workshops with world-renowned artists.

Our Mission

The Cape Coral Art League enhances the quality of life in Cape Coral by engaging our diverse community in high-quality arts education and exhibitions.

CCAL strengthens the fabric of our community by engaging youth in creative activities that develop discipline, problem-solving skills and decision-making, and give them a sense of achievement and personal worth. Studies have shown that children who have an art education are better able to focus on their aspects of their education and score higher on tests.

CCAL is a center for art education where children and adults can learn and develop their artistic skills. All students are welcome here, from the complete novice to the professional.

CCAL students become confident and seasoned in their accomplishments with others through our art in public places program, exhibitions and our open painting sessions, during which the artists create in a relaxed atmosphere and may request a critique of their work, gaining the insight of their artists in order to improve the quality of their art.

CCAL faculty is comprised of professional, practicing artists who are experienced teachers. The CCAL offers a diverse curriculum reflective of our changing society and then celebrates that diversity through exhibition.

CCAL is an integral part of the community. We offer in-depth arts education programs in our classrooms and present exhibitions in our gallery as well as many local venues.
