COMMUNITY SHOWS

CAPE CORAL LIBRARY HIGHLIGHTS WORK BY:

KIM CARIOTO-KRUGLE

Changing exhibits are featured in the spacious art gallery of the Cape Coral Library, located at 921 SW 39th Terrace.  The latest show will be available for viewing during library hours from August 17th thru September 28th.

A solo show at artwork by Kim Carioto-Krugle will be on exhibit in the library gallery area.  Her work is done either in oil or using paper pieces.  The paintings are on canvas and executed with brushes and palette knives.  Her unique paper art images are comprised of cut and torn papers, methods quite familiar to Kim as a retired school teacher with years of experience using cut paper designs and paper mosaic projects for her young students.  She also likes to give credit to her mother, who is a quilter.  Says Kim, "Watching her manipulate color and printed fabrics inspires me.  Paper is my quilting medium".

Born in Pittsburgh, Kim received her Bachelor's of Science in Art Education from Indiana University of PA and a Master's in Humanities with a Fine Arts concentration from Arcadia University in PA.  Her art teaching career spanned 36 years in 4 states and included all grade levels from pre-school to high school.  She also facilitated art-related clubs, summer programs and school exhibits.  For a time, Kim was even a technical stage director for plays and musicals!  She has done several wall sized paper murals for churches and schools and has displayed her work in local shows and festivals.  Upon retirement, Kim became a full-time Florida resident and is currently a member of the Cape Coral Art League!

Please congratulate Kim on her solo show at the Cape Coral Library!
